Girls Under Pressure by Jaqueline Wilson

I came across this book the last time we were in the library and decided to read it because it seemed interesting. I would give this book a 7/10 and recommend it to anyone who likes a series of short stories. (This is the second in the series by the way..)

The book is mainly about a girl called Ellie and her two best friends Magda and Nadine. They've been friends for a while, but as Ellie is growing up she starts to notice herself more, and she doesn't like what she sees.

"Glamorous blond Magda has got a thousand cute boys buzzing around her, and Goth girl Nadine has just been asked to take part in a national teen modeling contest."

Ellie feels left out and so unimportant, and because of one girl calling her 'fat' stars to see herself that way. She knows she's always been a little bit bigger than her friends, but it's never really bothered her before. However now that someone else has notice she gets into panic mode and tries several crash diets....

I liked the fact that in this book all three girls seemed so different and if it was real life, probably wouldn't get along, but somehow it works in this story. Through their friendship they help each other out and are there for the other two, when everything comes crashing down.... for all of them.
